Everett-Alderwood
Gravelly Sandy Loam

Mapping Symbol: EwC

This soil is about equal parts Everett and Alderwood. They are found on rolling areas. Slopes are dominantly 6 to 10% but range from gentle to steep. Most areas are irregular in shape and range from 15 to 100 acres or more in size. There is a consolidated layer under the Everett portoinat a depth of 7 to 20 feet. This material is the same as that making up the Alderwood subsoil.

0 to 17 Inches: Dark brown gravelly sandy loam
17 to 32 Inches: Brown very gravelly sandy loam 
32 to 60 Inches: Black and dark grayish brown very gravelly coarse sand

Permeability: Slow to medium

Erosion and Slippage Hazard: Slight to moderate

Use and Management: Primary use of this soil is for timber. Douglas-fir, Western Hemlock, Red Alder, and Bigleaf Maple are important tree species on all soil slope classes.
