Waste Storage Facility

Definition:

A waste storage impoundment made by fabricating a structure. This facility can be used to process raw manure or other raw organic by-products into biologically stable organic material.

Purpose:

To temporarily store manure as a component of an agricultural waste management system. If used for composting it can reduce the pollution potential of organic agricultural wastes to surface and ground water.
