Programs > Envirothon Competitions
Envirothon is a nationwide high school environmental education competition sponsored by a number of corporations including Canon USA Inc. and federal agencies such as the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the National Association of Conservation Districts.
The Envirothon program seeks to help young people develop an understanding of the principles and practices of natural resource management through the development of problem solving and critical thinking skills.
The competition takes place annually in many states and provinces where teams of students explore ecology, natural resource management and current environmental issues through both classroom and field-based curricula. Local teams participate in local, regional and then state competitions with each participating state/province sending one finalist team to a national competition.
Additional information about the Envirothon program can be obtained by visiting the National Envirothon web site.
