Annual Meeting
and Cooperator Awards
Each year at the King Conservation District annual meeting, District partners and cooperating landowners are acknowledged for their support of the District and their contributions to improving natural resources in King County. The District thanks the following individuals and organizations for their conservation efforts and community service:
Service Award:
Joan McBride, Deputy Mayor of Kirkland for establishing understanding and collaborative efforts between the suburban cities and KCD.
David Irons, for his valuable insight and efforts in assisting the district as an associate board member.
Richard Conlin, Seattle City councilmember, for his conservation vision, work with the watershed forums and assistance with the special assessment.
Conservation Landowner Award:
Mike and April LaLande
Best Partnering Organization Award:
WRIA 7 Forum, for high quality projects to enhance salmon and agriculture in the Snoqualmie watershed.
Portage Bay Reclamation
Local Government Conservation Award:
City of Clyde Hill, for their high quality annual Arbor Day celebrations.
City of Auburn for their numerous efforts to protect and enhance the environment and especially for the creation of their Environmental Park Project.
