I am running for KCD supervisor because I think the District needs forestry expertise.  My main concern is forest land conversion.  I expressed this concern in an editorial published recently in the Seattle Times.

There are significant acreages on developed and undeveloped lots in King County that remain forested.  There should be a greater emphasis on forest conservation that the district could support with representation on the board that I would provide.  I have been in the timber business for 36 years, mostly dealing with other private landowners.

I own property in the Snoqualmie Valley where my wife and I have developed equestrian facilities including pastures, fencing and feed storage.  We also farm timber on another portion of the property as well as maintain our residence on the property.

I think my experience balancing these activities gives me the knowledge and insight to better understand what landowners want.
