2009 Election Notice

The King Conservation District will hold a public election on Thursday, March 19, 2009 to fill a position on its five-member Board of Supervisors. Three candidates for the open seat have been announced.   The candidates who filed a nomination petition by the March 4, 2009 deadline include Preston Drew of Carnation, and David Mauk of Carnation. To be included on the ballot, the candidates completed the nomination form and gathered at least 25 signatures from registered voters residing within the district.

Polling stations will be staffed at the thirteen locations listed below Poll hours vary see below for specific location hours. All King County registered voters residing within the boundary of the District are eligible and encouraged to vote in this election.

King Conservation District board positions are 3-year, unpaid terms. Board members are responsible for over-seeing District operations, staff, financial administration, and for guiding the direction of District programs and policies. The King Conservation District total annual revenue is approximately $6.3 million dollars, of which with approximately $2.5 million of this is used to fund District operations and a staff of 17.5 FTEs. Regular board meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of every month from 6:00 p.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m.
